Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Family Planning department of CSR Nursing home offers the most sophisticated high risk obstetrics care under one roof. Dr.Rajini Kumar heads the department with the support and assistance of Dr. Jothi. The support of other allied departments and excellent neonatal care make this a reality. The maternal mortality rate among our booked antenatal patients is NIL.
While DUB-dysfunctional uterine bleeding is the commonest gynaecological problem, the advent of newer surgical modalities like BALLOON ABLATION, TCRE and VERSAPOINT have mitigated the necessity of hysterectomies especially in the younger women and those who are at high surgical risk. At CSR Nursing home, these procedures have benefited many patients. The department of gynaecology has been performing LAPROSCOPIC gynaecological procedures. The Laprascopic procedures performed include Hysterctomy, Surgical Management of ectopic pregnancies, Ovarian Cystectomy, Myomectomy, Endometriosis, Sterilisation etc.,
The spectrum of services available are :
1. Anemia complicating pregnancy / diabetes
2. Pregnancy associated with cardiovascular disease / pregnancy induced hypertension
3. Placenta praevia / APH / PPH / Retained placenta
4. Twin or Multiple pregnancy / mal presentation / IUGR
5. Family planning
6.Termination of pregnancy
7. Intrauterine contraceptive device
8. Puerperal sterilization.
Family planning programme is recognized by the central government for performing tubectomies. Counseling is done to help the couple to adopt appropriate method of contraception following delivery / abortion.
